Rogers Park Residents, Police to Attend Picnics, Raffles to Fight Crime

ROGERS PARK — Residents and area police are taking to the neighborhood's streets and parks Tuesday to stand up to crime.

The National Night Out events are happening throughout the country. Rogers Park's events include:

Indian Boundary Park, 2500 W. Lunt Ave. (Beat 2411)
Refreshments and giveaways will be offered from 6-8 p.m.

Willye B. White Park, 1610 W. Howard St. (Beat 2422)
A community picnic featuring hot dogs and more will take place 6:30-8:30 p.m. Several items will be raffled off for children.

Touhy Park, 7348 N. Paulina St. (Beat 2423)
Neighbors will gather from 6:30-8 p.m. to share pizza, water, juice and ice cream provided by sponsors J.B. Alberto's and Target. There will be games and face painting for children.

Damen Avenue and Howard Street (Beat 2424)
Chicago and Evanston residents plan to walk with both cities' police departments at 7 p.m. The walk begins at Damen and Howard and meanders through both cities.

Loyola Park, between Morse and Farwell avenues (Beat 2431)
From 6-7:30 p.m. neighbors will host a picnic with refreshments, raffles and giveaways.

Langdon Park, 1754 W. Albion Ave. (Beat 2432)
Residents will host a picnic with snacks and refreshments between 7-9 p.m. A prize drawing will be held at 8:30 p.m.

Warren Park, 6601 N. Western Ave. (Beat 2412)
Neighbors will host a raffle featuring prizes such as a child's car seat, 20 free Slurpee coupons from 7-11, 20 school supply sets and 12 bicycle helmets. The event is planned 6-7:30 p.m.
