Man Shot in Englewood in July Dies

CHICAGO — A man shot last month and taken in good condition to an area hospital died of his wounds Sunday, authorities said.

Antwan James, 46, of the 8000 block of South Carpenter Avenue, died Sunday at 9:08 a.m. at Advocate Christ Medical Center, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said.

James was shot about 9 p.m. on July 21 in an alley in the 1200 block of West 72nd Place, police said. Someone approached him on foot and fired shots, striking James multiple times in the body.

He was taken to Christ in good condition, police said.

No one is in custody.
