ROGERS PARK — A Loyola University student was walking home from the Loyola "L" station when a man snatched her wallet, university police said.

Joseph Bogdalek, Loyola's deputy police chief, said in an alert that a man approached the woman about 12:45 a.m. Monday at North Sheridan Road and West Columbia Avenue and asked for a dollar.

When the victim opened her wallet, the suspect grabbed it and "removed all the money," Bogdalek said.

The suspect then ran south toward the Loyola station, he said.

Police described the suspect as18-22 years old, 6 feet tall, with black hair and a buzz cut. He had on a white shirt and black pants.

Anyone who may have information about this incident should contact university police at 773-508-6039.
