CHICAGO — A 15-year-old boy was charged with murdering a 16-year-old boy sitting in his friend's bedroom in Marquette Park.

The fatal shooting of Darren Foggey occurred at 9:25 p.m. Wednesday in the 6700 block of South Artesian Avenue, police said.

Police say Darren was gang-affiliated and the shooting may have stemmed from an argument he had with someone outside while he was in his friend's apartment.

Friends of Darren interviewed last week said a single bullet entered through an open window while his back was to it. They said that they didn't know who would have shot him.

Darren was pronounced dead at 9:40 p.m. after being shot in his neck.

Police are not releasing the name of the suspect, who was charged with first-degree murder after authorities tracked him down.
