CHICAGO — A Marquette Park man was charged in the murder of an 18-year-old man shot dead in June on a neighborhood sidewalk.

James Jones, 18, is accused of fatally shooting another 18-year-old, Damarcus Boswell, on June 19.

Boswell was walking with a group of people about 4:50 p.m. in the 2800 block of West 71st Street when Jones walked up to them and fired several shots.

Boswell was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he died from gunshot wounds in his face and torso.

Jones was already in Cook County Jail after being booked Sunday on an aggravated assault against an police officer involving a gun. His bail was set at $950,000 in that case, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.
