LINCOLN PARK — This weekend's Taste of Lincoln Avenue festival is set to deliver a '90s blast from the past with rock bands Rusted Root and Gin Blossoms signed on as headliners.

The festival, which benefits the Wrightwood Neighbors Association, kicks off Saturday and Sunday at noon on Lincoln Avenue between Fullerton and Wrightwood.

Highlights of the festival, besides the main stage headliners, include a stage of purely blues music and a kids carnival.

The blues stage, at Altgeld and Lincoln, will include performances by Duke Tumatoe, Lil' Ed, Smiley Tillmon and Joanna Connor.

A third stage will be headlined by cover bands the Trippin Billies and Sixteen Candles.

There will be nearly 100 neighborhood vendors at the two-day festival as well as the Lill Street Craft Fair showcasing the work of two dozen artists.

For the kids, the carnival entrance is between Lincoln and Halsted and will include a giant slide, arts and crafts, balloons, pony rides, games and more.

The entry fee for the festival is $8, which the association donates back to the community.
