
CHICAGO — The Blue Line's O'Hare branch will be closed for construction this weekend, potentially delaying Wicker Park Fest travelers as well as those heading to and from the airport.
Train service will be stopped from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday between the Western and Logan Square stations. The construction is part of the $492 million "Your New Blue" project.
Free, 24-hour bus shuttles will operate at the Western, California and Logan Square locations to accommodate passengers, but the CTA is warning customers — including those attending Wicker Park Fest — to plan for 15-20 minutes of extra travel time.
From 9 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday, the following roads will be also be closed due to the construction:
- 2404-2425 W. Homer St.
- 2446-2459 W. Armitage Ave.
- 2600-2629 W. Francis Place
- 2800-2815 W. Lyndale St.
- 2820-2851 W. Belden St.
From 7 a.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday, 2700-2715 W. Prindiville will also be closed.
Late Friday to Monday morning, buses along the #52 Kedzie/California, #56 Milwaukee and #73 Armitage routes will be detoured due to the construction and Wicker Park Fest.
