Man Shot and Killed Outside Pullman Gas Station

CHICAGO — A 39-year-old man was fatally shot early Thursday outside a gas station in Pullman.

Around 3:15 a.m., the man was walking in the 11600 block of South Michigan Avenue when someone approached on foot and opened fire, said Officer Amina Greer, a Chicago Police spokeswoman.

The man was struck repeatedly in the head and body and was unresponsive when emergency crews showed up on the scene, Greer said.

The man, who was identified as Anthony Edwards, of the 12400 block of South Normal Avenue, was pronounced dead at 3:24 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

No one is in custody for the shooting.
