9-Year-Old Hermosa Girl Found Near Home After Going Missing After School

CHICAGO — A 9-year-old girl has been been found after going missing at about 12:30 p.m. Thursday, police say.

Emily Rivera left Nixon Elementary School, 2121 North Keeler Ave., to walk home to the 2300 block of North Kenneth Avenue, but she did not return home immediately. Police said she was safely located near her home at about 5:15 p.m.

Rivera had not gone missing before.
