CHICAGO — A 24-year-old man from the South Side is charged with fatally shooting 19-year-old Malcolm Stuckey and wounding two others in an Englewood shooting in late May.

Michael Wade, of the 7200 block of South Champlain Avenue in Greater Grand Crossing, is charged with one count of murder and two counts of attempted murder for the shooting, which occurred on May 29.

Wade, 23, and an accomplice went to a birthday party in the 5700 block of South LaSalle Street in the afternoon on May 29, Cook County Assistant State's Attorney Jamie Santini said.

A witness saw the accomplice, who has not been charged or identified, on the porch with a black handgun in his pocket, Santini said. The accomplice, familiar to people at the party as a member of the Black Disciples street gang, and Wade left the party, where rival gang members were hanging out.

But less than an hour later, they returned to the area, Santini said. They parked in a nearby alley and crept around the front of the house from the gangway.

Stuckey and two friends were on the porch, Santini said. The two gunmen opened fire, striking a 24-year-old man in the foot and a 23-year-old man in the head and body as they tried to get away.

Stuckey, hit by multiple bullets, including one that struck him below the right ear, was declared dead on the scene at about 6:10 p.m. that Thursday, police said.

During a brief court hearing Tuesday, a Cook County judge ordered Wade held without bail.
