CANARYVILLE — Canaryville knows how to throw a good party and this weekend's St. Gabriel Family Fest should be no exception.

Hosted by St. Gabriel Catholic School, the annual event takes place Friday evening and all day Saturday.

It kicks off 6 p.m. Friday with a DJ set by Canaryville's own "DJ Lizzie Beats" Martin on, plus kids games, raffles and a cameo by Southpaw, the Chicago White Sox mascot.

The kids activities, including water slides and bounce houses, will run until 9 p.m.

That's in addition to the beer garden and food vendors that will be set up at 45th and Wallace streets.

On Saturday, the kids activities run from 11 a.m.-6 p.m. and the live music roster, including sets by the Bleedin' Fingers Jam Band, St. Laurence Rock Club, and the Bon Jovi tribute group, Bad Medicine, kicks off at 2 p.m.

That's all a lead-up to the big raffle drawings, including Saturday's drawing for the $10,000 grand prize. Entries are $50.

See the St. Gabriel Family Fest website for more information.
