
EDISON PARK — The hybrid live action-animated flick "The Smurfs 2" will light up the night sky at Brooks Park Friday as part of the Chicago Park District's Movies in the Parks series.
"The Smurfs 2" — based on the beloved 1980s cartoon — tells the story of the villain Gargamel's plan to replace the Smurfs with look-alike little blue creatures called the Naughties. The movie features the voices of Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Katy Perry and Hank Azaria.
Moviegoers can bring a blanket and a picnic basket to watch current and classic flicks for free during the series.
