CHICAGO — Saturday's heavy rains have led officials to cancel Taste of Chicago festivities for the day.

The city's Office of Emergency Management and Communications said “excessive rainfall and flooding on the festival grounds.”

The National Weather Service estimated between 1 and 3 inches of rain fell this morning. Cook County is under a flash flood watch until 1:30 p.m.

Taste will offer automatic refunds for concert and Chef du Jour tickets purchased online. Jeff Tweedy and Lucinda Williams were scheduled to headline the event Saturday night.

Taste is expected to open on schedule tomorrow, weather permitting.
