Things to Do in Lincoln Park this Weekend

Friday

Windy City Smokeout sponsored by Joe's on Weed Street at 560 W. Grand Ave., noon

What's better than three days of live country music, cold beer and some of the city's best barbecue? The Windy City Smokeout brings the party to the heart of the downtown, where Grand Avenue meets the Chicago River for a festival fit for foodies and music fans. Headliners include Shawn Lacy at 4 p.m., Josh Thompson at 6 p.m. and Brett Eldredge at 8 p.m. Tickets are $35 for general admission. New this year is a VIP option for $100, which gets you exclusive access to an elevated viewing area, private bathrooms, a private cash bar and barbecue sampling. Don't forget your cowboy boots and a bib!

Us the Duo at Park West, 322 W. Armitage Ave., 7:30 p.m.

Head to Park West for performances by Us the Duo and Caroline Glaser Friday night. Tickets for the all-ages show are $15 and $18 at the door.

Red Wanting Blue at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m.

Lincoln Hall gives you a taste of singer-songwriter Scott Terry's passionate and poetic songs anchored by his powerful baritone voice when Red Wanting Blue performs with the Alternate Routes and the Bergamot. Tickets for the 18-and-over show are $15 in advance or $17 at the door.

Saturday

Green City Market, 1750 N. Clark St., 7 a.m.-1 p.m.

Check out the 10 new vendors at the outdoor market with more than 60 vendors. The market will be open from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays through Oct. 25.

Veruca Salt features Nina Gordon on guitar/vocals, Louise Post on guitar/vocals, Steve Lack on bass and Jim Shapiro on drums. Also on the bill is Battleme. Tickets for the 21-and-over show are $25.

Sunday
