EDGEWATER — That's one way to slice a pizza.

The people at Edgewater Workbench, a do-it-yourself community workshop at 1130 W. Thorndale Ave., plan to carve through a pizza with their laser cutter during a grand opening celebration 6 p.m. Saturday.

Usually, the high-powered laser is used to cut through wood or etch it.

Workbench owners Ally Brisbin and Stuart Marsh will also demo their 3-D printers.

Since last week, the doors have been open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. every day. For $8 a day, anyone is welcome to stop by to fix that old busted lamp or anything else that might need tweaking.

Free coffee and WiFi are included.
