LAKEVIEW — The women behind "The New Chicago Diner Cookbook" will hand out veggie and vegan snacks Saturday at Unabridged Bookstore.
The beloved indie shop is one of nine participating in the inaugural "Chicago Independent Bookstore Day" this weekend.
From noon-1 p.m. Saturday, authors Jo Kaucher and Kat Barry will talk about their cookbook and offer snacks from The Chicago Diner, a vegetarian staple in Boystown.
Unabridged Bookstore, 3251 N. Broadway, is offering a 10-percent storewide discount Saturday. And anyone who buys a book will be eligible for raffle prizes.
