FOREST GLEN — Gardens in one of the most secluded Chicago neighborhoods will be open to the public during the first Forest Glen Garden Walk.

The self-guided tour, which will feature presentations from master gardeners, will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on July 19.

The tour will raise money for the Forest Glen Community Club, which maintains public spaces in what residents like to think of as a nature-rich oasis tucked between two expressways and the Milwaukee District North Metra Line in the middle of the city.

The gardens featured on the walk will include rain gardens, koi ponds and English cottage-style gardens. The tour will also take participants by a variety of homes, including cottages, bungalows, ranch houses, Tudors, Georgians and Queen Annes.

Tickets for the event hosted by the Forest Glen Community Club is are $8 in advance or $10 at the gate.
