LOGAN SQUARE — The next community policing gathering in Logan Square will be more of a barbeque than a meeting.

The July 9 Beat 1421 CAPS meeting will be held outdoors at Richard Yates School Playground, 1839 N. Richmond St, and will including a police roll call and a cookout.

Residents are urged to bring a neighbor and a lawn chair to the meeting Wednesday at 6 p.m. Beat 1421 covers North Avenue to Armitage Avenue and Rockwell Street to Sawyer Street, however all are welcome to attend.

Beat officers will be in attendance to help answer community complaints and concerns regarding safety in the neighborhood.

If you are unable to attend the meeting but have an issue you would like brought to the department's attention, call the CAPS office at 312-744-1261.

CPD’s ClearPath website can also be used to check crime statistics, submit tips anonymously or comment on beat officers, according to Blomgren. Residents can also text a crime tip to TXT2TIP.

A full list of beat meetings for July in Logan Square, Humboldt Park, Avondale and Hermosa can be found here.

In case of bad weather, Wednesday's meeting will be held at the Humboldt Park Library, 1605 N. Troy.
