STREETERVILLE — Drivers speeding past Ogden Plaza Park can expect to get tickets starting Tuesday, when the warning period ends for the neighborhood's newest automated speed enforcement cameras.

Two speed cameras were installed a month ago at 449 and 450 N. Columbus Drive near the Streeterville park, one pointed in each direction of traffic.

For the last 30 days, they've issued warnings to drivers exceeding the 30 mph speed limit between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m.

Starting Tuesday, drivers will get tickets instead of warnings: $35 for driving 6 to 10 mph over the limit and $100 for speeding by 11 mph or more.

On Monday, the 30-day warning period began for two speed cameras recently mounted near Calumet Park at 3535 E. 95th St., meaning ticketing will begin at that site at the end of July.
