LAKEVIEW — The wait is over: mfk. opens Thursday.

The seafood restaurant at 432 W. Diversey Pkwy. promises a minimalist approach with prawns, veggies, anchovies and stew.

Husband-and-wife team Scott Worsham and Sari Zernich Worsham said they named the restaurant after famed food writer Mary Frances Kennedy Fisher.

Small details like seersucker napkins and white-washed walls will help create "a place that feels like summer all the time," Scott Worsham said.

"We’re trying to make it as light and summery feeling as we can. It might be kind of a subconscious reaction to the winter we just had."

Menu items include ceviche, small plates of squid and shrimp, scallops cooked on a plancha grill, fish stew, and steaks. Prices range from $7 to $38.

Most wines will be "biodynamic," or made from grapes grown in a self-contained farmland, without pesticides. Glasses cost $6-18; bottles are $24-72.

The restaurant opens Thursday at noon and does not take reservations.
