CHICAGO — Police on Sunday said the Pride Parade, which drew more than a million people, was a mostly peaceful affair. But eight people were arrested, including one person who allegedly had a hand in smashing the windshield of a police cruiser.
Photos tweeted from the scene showed a mob of people surrounding a police car, including several people on top of it.

Video posted by one Twitter user showed the crowd chanting expletives toward police. Other photos showed someone who allegedly smashed the windshield with a skateboard, and exasperated-looking police officers standing by their vehicle.
Overall, the crowd was well-behaved, police said.
"Despite the large crowd, there were only a handful of issues, including eight arrests, one of which was for criminal damage to a police vehicle," police said.
Dionte Rice, 19, of the 11600 block of South Church Street was charged with a felony count of criminal damage to property after police saw him damaging the marked police car, police said.
