CHICAGO — A 47-year-old man was fatally shot while standing in an alley on his block in North Austin Monday morning.

Around 4 a.m. Monday, the man was standing in the 4800 block of West Concord Place when someone shot him in his head. He was transferred to Mt. Sinai Hospital where he was later pronounced, said Officer Michael Sullivan, a police spokesman.

The man was identified as Andre Knight, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. Officials there said Knight, who lived on the same block, was 46.

More information was not availble and detectives are investigating, Sullivan said.
