LINCOLN PARK — Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler is set to host the first Jay Cutler Foundation Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament on North Avenue Beach on July 18.
Cutler will take the winning team to dinner that same night somewhere in the city.
"There's no better place in the country over the summer than North Avenue Beach, Chicago," Cutler said in a statement.
The tournament is set for July 18 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Thirty teams of six to 10 players will compete in an elimination format tournament with the proceeds benefiting the foundation.
Cutler's foundation supports children with Type 1 diabetes.
The entry fee is $1,000 per team.
Lunch will be provided by Subway as well as beer by MillerCoors and juice and smoothies from Real Good Juice Co.
Tommy Bahama is partnering with the Bears and Cutler to put on the event.
