RIVER NORTH — The fifth annual River North Challenge will pit neighborhood residents against each other in a battle of brains and brawn for prizes on Tuesday, June 24.

Sponsored by the River North Business Association, the challenge will lead four-person teams through a selection of the neighborhood's hotels, where they'll race each other and the clock to answer math and trivia questions or complete physical challenges at each stop.

"The challenge is a valuable event for the neighborhood and community," said Skip Weiss, chairman of the RNBA Board of Directors. "It gets many fresh eyes on some of the city's most popular hotels while adventuring through the neighborhood."

Points are awarded when each team earns a stamp in its "passport" by completing a challenge at participating hotels including Aloft, Courtyard Marriott and Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza.

Prizes include cocktail parties, hotel stays and gift certificates to area restaurants. The winning team will receive a River North entertainment package with all of the above, and more.

Additional prizes will be awarded to the team with the best costumes, and participants can buy raffle tickets for more prizes after the race.

Tickets cost is $40 per person or $150 for a team of four. Food and drinks are included at each major hotel stop. Registration takes place at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza before the race kicks off at 5:30 p.m. The finish line closes at 8:30 p.m., with an after party at Cantina Laredo from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
