LOGAN SQUARE — Author Daniel Levine will tour Chicago after the release of his novel, "HYDE," a retelling of the classic work, "The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde."
Levine will read from HYDE and sign copies of the book at City Lit Books, 2523 N. Kedzie Ave. June 26 at 6:30 p.m.
Though the classic has been reinvented, Levine imagines those circumstances from Hyde's perspective. Levine's debut novel has received outstanding reviews from publications including The Washington Post, Publishers Weekly, USA Today, The Kirkus Review, and most recently The New York Times, which declared HYDE an "ingenious revision."
Levine studied English literature and creative writing at Brown University and received his master's of fine arts degree in fiction writing from the University of Florida. He has taught composition and creative writing at high schools and universities, including the University of Florida, Montclair State University and Metropolitan State College of Denver. Originally from New Jersey, he now lives in Colorado.
