Ale Syndicate Hosts Wizard of Oz Celebration with Two Original Beers

LOGAN SQUARE — Ale Syndicate Brewers will host a Wizard of Oz Anniversary Celebration Thursday in honor of the film's 75th anniversary.

Learn the role Chicago played in what is called the first American fairytale and enjoy a special preview of Ale Syndicate’s Logan Square brewery, 2601 W. Diversey Pkwy., 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Sheffield will provide Kansas-inspired BBQ nibbles, and Liz Garibay from Tales, Taverns & Towns will enlighten attendees with the history behind one the world’s most recognized stories. 

A chance to try two Wizard of Oz-inspired brews made especially for the event will be presented for the 115th anniversary of the writing of the classic story and 75th anniversary of the Wizard of Oz movie.

"There’s No Place Like Home: Ale Syndicate Brewers Hosts Wizard of Oz Anniversary Celebration" will bring together barbeque experts Sheffield’s Chicago, Tales, Taverns & Towns, a project that explores the city’s past through its great saloons and Wizard of Oz lovers.

Tickets are $25 and includes a preview to Ale Syndicate's new brewery, a "welcome" beer, two samples of Ale Syndicate Oz-inspired beer, a conclusion beer, light appetizers and loads of history.
