Ninth Annual Snubfest at Zanies, 1548 N. Wells St., 8:30 p.m.

The comedy festival showcases comedians snubbed from festivals in the last year. Thursday's category is Stand-Up Comedy, with the opportunity to perform at Laugh Factory and Comedy Bar on the ine. Performers include Rob Speer, Cody Melcher, Matthew H. Chadourne, Dan Perlman, Byron Stamps, Eileen Tull, Nigel Ng, Josh Johnson, Bram Funk, Dan Peff, Sam Norton, Curtis Cook, Lucky Luciano, Robby Cole and Andrea Cordts. Tickets are $20 with the minimum purchase of two drinks or food items.

Flying Fox Animal Show at Notebaert Nature Museum, 2430 N. Cannon Drive, 11 a.m.-noon

Experience the gentle nature of fruit bats and other mammals up close when this "zoo to you" show brings some of the most unique creatures to the Nature Museum. The show is free with admission to the museum.

Common Kings at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 9 p.m.

Silver Wrapper presents Common Kings, Sammy J and the Jimmy Weeks Project as they take over the Lincoln Hall stage Thursday night. Tickets to the 18-and-over show are $16 in advance or $18 at the door.
