SOUTH LOOP — DePaul University has released updated renderings of the upcoming McCormick Place Events Center.
The new arena is scheduled to open during the 2016-2017 basketball season and will be the new home of both the men's and women's Blue Demon basketball teams.
The 10,000-seat glass-walled building with a wavy roof are part of the plan that includes a $400 million hotel and a new park.
The new renderings detail a few minor changes from the original plan released in September.
Those changes include moving suites to two levels on the west side of the stadium. Suites were previously located on the floor level behind the bench as well as on the upper level.
The renderings also feature details of a sports bar/restaurant.
The men's basketball team currently plays its games at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont.
