BRIDGEPORT — Three professional storytellers will spin yarns based on a theme at the monthly South Side version of Story Club.

This month, the theme is "Almost," "the true, ambitious stories about that thing that almost happened, and the unexpected — often better — thing that happened instead."

In addition to the featured performers, three open mic slots are available for brave storytellers at the June 17 session. They'll have eight minutes to tell their story, which doesn't have to follow the theme.

Open mic sign-up starts at 7:30 p.m. Show begins at 8 p.m. Suggested donation for entry is $5. The event is BYOB and is hosted at Co-Prosperity Sphere, 3219 S. Morgan St.
