EDGEBROOK — Fifty eighth grade students graduated Thursday from Edgebrook Elementary School — and Principal Chad Weiden celebrated by taking a selfie.

Surrounded by eighth grade students in their caps and gowns, Widen — who tweets as @Principal Weiden — captioned the picture "Graduation Selfie!! Congrats 8th grade students!"

More than 50 percent of the Edgebrook Elementary School graduating class of 2014 will attend selective enrollment high schools in the fall, Weiden said.

"We are very proud of our class of 2014," Weiden said via email.

Stefan Holt, an anchor and reporter for NBC5, gave the commencement address after being invited to the ceremony by science teacher Rozy Patel, who won the Golden Apple award for teaching excellence in May.
