RIVER WEST — Excision, Deep Dish and Erick Morillo will headline the inaugural Riverwest Music Festival the first weekend in July.
Tickets went on sale Wednesday for the riverfront festival, which will bring house and electronic music to the corner of Elston Avenue and Division Street the weekend of July 4-6, with music scheduled to run from 11 a.m. Friday to 10:30 p.m. Sunday.
The new festival could face some heavy competition: the same weekend, heavy-hitter Wavefront Music Festival is scheduled to return, if it isn't halted by the alderman and condo owners who claim the nearly sold-out lakefront electronic event got too rowdy last year.
Benoit & Sergio, Sharam and Rusko both played Wavefront last year and are on Riverwest Fest's lineup this year.
If Wavefront is canceled entirely — and not just relocated, as some rumors have suggested — it could be a boon for the first-year festival.
Three-day passes are $100 in advance and $150 at the door.
