BRIDGEPORT — Wingstop, the carryout-only restaurant serving little more than fried chicken wings, will soon open in the neighborhood.
"We scouted this location because of Bridgeport's demographics and people supporting their local restaurants. And the White Sox just being down the street," said Pat Madden, president of Five Point Wings, a group that's opened five of the chain's 34 Chicago locations.
Billed as the “wing experts," Wingstop's menu features classic and boneless wings that are fried and tossed in a choice of 10 sauces and rubs, including original hot, mild, atomic, Cajun, teriyaki, lemon pepper, Hawaiian, garlic parmesan, hickory smoked BBQ and Louisiana rub.
In addition to the wing offerings, Wingstop serves up sides of seasoned french fries, baked beans, cole slaw and potato salad.
Madden said the store, located in the Parkview Plaza in the 3000 block of South Halsted Street, is expected to open in mid-July.
