CHICAGO — Police are questioning a person of interest in the death of a 59-year-old woman hit by a car while riding a bicycle in Bridgeport Thursday evening.

The incident occurred about 5:30 p.m. in the 2900 block of South Poplar Avenue, according to police.

A car struck her then drove away eastbound, police said. Police were questioning someone regarding incident Friday morning.

The victim was identified as Suai Xie, and was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital at 6:08 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
