COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A Mount Greenwood man riding the Red Line was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday, prosecutors said.

The commuter was on the train near the Garfield Boulevard Station when Vincent Russel, 23, flashed a gun, and his accomplice, Auturo Banks, 30, reached into the man's pockets, prosecutors alleged.

The pair allegedly made off with a bag — later found in a Wendy's dumpster — the victim's Ventra car and a Galaxy cellphone.

Both men were arrested later and positively identified as the culprits, prosecutors said.

Russel has a previous conviction for robbery, and Banks has been convicted of attempted armed robbery.

They were ordered held in lieu of $250,000 bond by a Cook County judge Thursday.
