CHICAGO — Police say a man beat a little boy while trying to kidnap a 10-year-old girl in Chicago Lawn Thursday.
The incident took place about 5:30 p.m. in the 6900 block of South California Avenue. Police say a man attempted to take the girl into his vehicle. When a 7-year-old boy came to her aid, the man "struck" him. Neither child was injured, police said.
Police said the suspect is a white or Hispanic male, between 18 and 20 years old, with short black hair and a light complexion.
He was driving a white convertible with red seats.
