CHICAGO — Groupon's Chicago offices got a loud visit from a baby T-Rex Thursday morning, with a costumed actor storming offices and snapping at workers.

"My first reaction: I love this job," said employee Alex Wayman, who shot a cellphone video of the dino's visit. "After that I was pretty much in little kid mode. I turned off adulthood for a second and just cruised on autopilot. If I was thinking of anything, it was 'Jurassic Park' quotes. I followed it around the office for about as long as was reasonable, remembered I was an adult with some work to do, and that was that."

Megan Yeager, a Groupon spokeswoman, said the dinosaur visit was arranged by staff members working on a deal Groupon has with the "Walking with Dinosaurs" traveling arena show.

"My favorite moment was when we had the dinosaur just hanging out by the elevator," Yeager said. "When the door opened up it let out a nice roar for the surprised people coming out."

While Yeager admits that the Groupon office at 600 W. Chicago Ave has some fun aspects to it, such as an area with hanging swings called "The Fun Zone," everything is designed to promote teamwork.

"There's sort of a work hard-play hard mentality in the office," Yeager said. "But dinosaurs won't be roaming the fourth floor every day."
