Three Trucks Full of Meat Stolen From Back of the Yards, Little Village

CHICAGO — Someone is hungry.

Police are alerting businesses in Back of the Yards and Little Village to be on the lookout after three trailers full of "refrigerated meat products" have been stolen since the beginning of the month.

Most recently, a trailer was stolen about 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the 4200 block of South Ashland Avenue in Back of the Yards.

About a week earlier, another trailer of meat products was stolen about a half mile away, in the 1500 block of West 43rd Street. Police said that theft happened about 1:15 a.m. on May 12.

In Little Village, a trailer was stolen in the 2600 block of South Western Avenue sometime between May 1-5.

Police are warning local businesses in the area to keep their property well lit and to report any suspicious activity.
