BOYSTOWN — Singer and actress Jennifer Hudson will perform this year at Chicago Pride Fest on June 21, organizers said Saturday.

"This is what you've been waiting for!" the Northalsted Business Alliance, organizers of the festival, said on its Facebook page.

Hudson, a Chicago native, joins Carlto Alivero, Thelma Houston, Mya and Alex Newall of the TV show "Glee" at the annual event on June 21 and June 22. Hudson is scheduled to perform at 2:40 p.m. at the stage at Broadway and Halsted.

On Twitter Hudson said: "Excited to play @pridefestchi in my hometown! Lets do this Chicago!"

Mya is known for hits like "Case of the Ex (Watcha Gonna Do)" and "My Love is Like ... Wo," and Newell, who stepped into the spotlight as runner-up on the Oxygen reality show "The Glee Project" after producer Ryan Murphy was inspired by Newell's flair for singing in drag.
