COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A Gresham man who authorities say carjacked a Jeep Grand Cherokee in a Streeterville park garage on Monday has been charged, police said.
Demetris McCrea, 22, of the 8600 block of South Wolcott Avenue, crept up on a man sitting in his 2007 Jeep in the 300 block of East Illinois Street at about 8:30 a.m., police said.
McCrea forced the 31-year-old man out of the Jeep a gunpoint, jumped in his vehicle and sped away, police said.
The alleged carjacker was expected in court on the charges Thursday.
