CHICAGO — The Blue Man Group is teaming up with the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra for a free performance next month in Millennium Park.

The trio will perform alongside the youth orchestra on June 8, adding their "colorful surprises" to a number of musical pieces from the orchestra's tour to China, according to a statement. The show will also include teasers of classics from Wager, Khachaturian and other composers.

The outdoor performance will be the first of its kind for the Blue Man Group, and the director of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra called the show a "rare confluence of talents."

"Combining Blue Man Group's hilarious theatricality with the youthful energy of CYSO's talented musicians will make for a potent blend that is certain to offer a singularly exciting concert," music director Allen Tinkham said.

The free show is set to begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Pritzker Pavilion, 201 E. Randolph St.
