CHICAGO — The CTA is holding an open house Tuesday night to discuss possible plans to extend the Red Line south to 130th Street.

The meeting will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Palmer Park Gymnasium, 201 E. 111th St. in Roseland.

The idea to extend the Red Line south is still in the planning stages, with the CTA considering options and attempting to secure necessary funding.

The proposed 5.3-mile extension could include four new stations near Michigan Avenue, 103rd Street, 111th Street and 130th Street. The Red Line now stops at 95th Street.

At Tuesday's meeting, city residents will learn about different proposals and their potential benefits and impacts.
