UPTOWN — Heritage Bikes General Store now has plans to open two Uptown locations in Flats Chicago buildings that will also feature cafes.

Heritage Outpost is expected to open in August in the lobby of a Flats building undergoing renovation at 1325 W. Wilson Ave. as well as the Lawrence House Hotel, 1020 W. Lawrence Ave., in the summer of 2015, according to Heritage.

Heritage operations manager Derek Lewis said Thursday morning that "we're bursting at the seams here at our Lincoln Avenue location and it's nice to offer our services in other neighborhoods." He's also excited about the Flats partnership.

"Flats is a project that we like ... so when this opportunity came around it was kind of natural," he said.

Lawrence House, like the Wilson property, is also awaiting a makeover. It's the last residential building bought by Flats.

Last summer, Flats, the owner of several formerly dilapidated buildings on the North Side that the company is remodeling as trendy apartments, acquired Lawrence house with plans to transform it into Flats' "flagship property."

The building will feature 350 modern apartments and include various amenities, such as free Wi-Fi, a 6,000-square-foot fitness center, 2,500-square-foot library and a restored indoor pool that Cedar said hadn’t been used since the 1930s, according to Flats.
