NORWOOD PARK — Taft High School is still searching for a new principal after opening the search for the principal a week ago.

Acting Principal Carolyn Rownd, who will finish out the 2013-14 school year and has received positive reviews from the Taft faculty, said the search for the new principal continues.

The Local School Council met Tuesday but did not name the new principal.

Last week, the Taft LSC approved an advertisement seeking candidates for the open position. The search to fill the position officially began April 11 when former principal Mary Kay Cappitelli retired. She had been on a leave of absence for health reasons since November and Carolyn Rownd has been acting as principal since.

A new principal is expect to be selected by July 1, officials said.
