One Dead, Three Wounded in Overnight Shootings

CHICAGO — One person was killed and three others wounded in South Side shootings Tuesday night and Wednesday.

In Chatham, 18-year-old Jajuan Porter was shot to death about 9:50 p.m. Tuesday as he stood in the 7900 block of South Vincennes Avenue, police said. The incident may have been gang-related.

A 26-year-old man was also wounded in the shooting. He's in critical condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center with gunshot wounds in his chest and shoulder.

In other shootings:

A 36-year-old woman was shot in her leg in South Deering early Wednesday, police said. The woman was walking with a group in the 2200 block of East 100th Street when someone approached and began shooting about 1:15 a.m. The victim was treated at Advocate Christ Medical Center.

About 7:35 p.m. Tuesday in West Pullman, a 16-year-old boy was grazed in his arm, police said. The boy walked past a group of males in the 11500 block of South Prairie Avenue when he heard a noise and realized he'd been shot, he told police. He was listed in good condition at Roseland Community Hospital.

No one was in custody for any of the shootings.

Earlier Tuesday, 20-year-old Chasteddy Blocker was killed and two people in wounded in daytime shootings.
