CHICAGO — A man was stabbed in the stomach Friday night after firing a gun at another man during an argument, police said.

Twenty-eight-year-old Joshua Guerrero was arguing with another man in the 2100 block of North McVicker Avenue in the Galewood neighborhood about 11:20 p.m., police said.

Guerrero tried to take an item from the man's neck, police said. During an ensuing struggle, Guerrero allegedly fired a gun at the man, missing him.

The man then stabbed Guerrero in the stomach.

Guerrero was later found in the 2900 block of North Normandy Avenue, police said, and was taken in serious condition to Loyola Medical Center.

Guerrero, of the 3000 block of North Nordica Avenue, was charged with three felonies: aggravated discharged of a firearm, armed robbery and aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

During a court hearing Saturday, he was ordered held on $275,000 bail.

The man Guerrero allegedly tried to rob and shoot was not charged.
