CHICAGO — A 26-year-old man is in serious condition after he was shot in Belmont Cragin early Tuesday.

The man was standing in a garage in the 2600 block of North McVicker Avenue when someone walked up and began shooting about 12:25 a.m. Tuesday, said Officer Amina Greer, a police spokeswoman.

The victim was struck in his upper right chest and taken in serious condition to Mount Sinai Hospital. No other injuries were reported.

Earlier in the evening, a 19-year-old man was shot in his leg in Roseland. The teen was standing on the sidewalk in the 9500 block of South Perry Avenue when he "heard shots and felt pain" about 9:55 p.m., Greer said.

The victim ran away and notified police. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center, where his condition stabilized.

No one was in custody for either shooting.
