Dead Infant Found In Logan Square Alley

CHICAGO — Police found a dead infant in a gangway in the Logan Square neighborhood Saturday morning.

Police found an infant boy inside a plastic bag in a gangway of a building in the 2700 block of North Hamlin Avenue Saturday morning, said Officer Stacey Cooper, a police spokeswoman.

The infant was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:44 a.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office.

A death investigation is underway by Area North detectives, Cooper said.
