CHICAGO — A Tennessee man has died, a week after being found beaten in Englewood, and authorities are calling it homicide.

Anthony Morris, of Jackson, Tenn., was pronounced dead at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn at 7:20 a.m. Thursday, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

He was taken there after police received a call about a battery at 1:35 p.m. on March 26 and found the 27-year-old man bleeding from his head in the 7000 block of South Vincennes Avenue, according to police.

An autopsy performed Friday determined Morris died of blunt force injuries from being struck on the head. His death was called a homicide by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
