CHICAGO — Nearly a week after a CTA "L" train jumped the track at the O'Hare station, causing millions in damage and injuring dozens of passengers, service to the airport resumed Sunday afternoon, transit officials said.

Early Monday morning a CTA train operator dozed off before the train barreled past the end of the track, careening up an escalator, injuring 35 people.

CTA crews have been working around the clock ever since to repair the damage, which is estimated at $6 million.

Injured passengers have since filed several lawsuits against the transit agency, which has also feuded with union officials, who maintain the operator worked nearly 70 hours the week before the accident.
