CHICAGO — At least six people were wounded in shootings across the city during the day Friday, police said.

The most recent incident occurred at 6:37 p.m. in the Oakland neighborhood. Two people, including a FedEx employee, were shot in the 4100 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, the company and police said.

The employee, a 48-year-old woman, was shot twice in her right leg and was taken in serious condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

A 19-year-old man was shot in his left arm and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition, police said.

The shooting is believed to be gang-related.

Hours earlier, a 25-year-old man was shot in his thigh about 12:40 p.m. in the 5100 block of South Emerald Avenue of Back of the Yards, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

The victim was taken to Stroger Hospital in unknown condition.

In another shooting, an 18-year-old man was shot in a daytime shooting in South Chicago.

The incident occurred about 10:45 a.m. in the 9400 block of South Commercial Avenue, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a police spokeswoman.

The man was shot in his abdomen and was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in good condition.

In Rogers Park, two men, 41 and 25, were also shot about noon.

About the same time, a 20-year-old man was killed in the Washington Park neighborhood, police said.
